Children are a gift from God, Psalm 127. And blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They are like arrows which father and mother may shoot into the world on the tight string of their mutual love, in hope and faith that the apple of evil will be severed by their offspring; that the target of human hearts will be split wide open by the sharp arrowhead of their youthful love of Christ; that general blessing to all humanity and creation might receive the piercing stab of joy from godly children sent forth. Please, Lord, may it be so with all our children. Amen.
